The Grand Forks Herald recently highlighted Matrix Design Group, Inc.‘s work on the Grand Forks Air Force Base Compatible Use Study, a collaborative planning initiative designed to help guide future development while preserving the long-term operational needs of Grand Forks Air Force Base. 
 
Created in response to North Dakota Senate Bill 2938 and funded through the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation, the three-phase study brings together local officials, military leadership, businesses, landowners, and community stakeholders to evaluate land use compatibility and develop recommendations that balance military readiness with responsible community and economic growth. 
 
Now in the study’s analysis phase, the Matrix team is working with representatives from local agencies, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to evaluate 25 military-community compatibility factors. Key areas of focus include emergency management coordination, communications and frequency spectrum capacity, land, air and space considerations, energy development, and land uses that could affect current and future military missions.
