Broadway Station – Kentucky Avenue Bridge

Denver, CO

Project Bio

Access to the west side of Broadway Station was constrained by the South Platte River, limiting connectivity and redevelopment opportunities in Denver. Matrix designed the Kentucky Avenue Bridge to minimize floodplain impacts and avoid major roadway reconstruction, supporting mixed-use development while reducing construction costs and disruption.

  • Delivered structural bridge engineering for a three-span bridge
  • Designed a 179-foot-long vehicular and pedestrian
    bridge connection
  • Minimized floodplain impacts and avoided raising South Platte River Drive
  • Evaluated capital costs and life-cycle costs of multiple

  • Oversaw CM/GC delivery process, saving the owner more

Water Tank Rehabilitation Program

Colorado Springs, CO

Project Bio

Aging potable water storage facilities across Colorado Springs required clear prioritization to maintain reliability and safety. Matrix assessed more than 20 water storage tank sites and developed a weighted scoring system to guide repairs and upgrades. This improved capital planning, operational reliability, and long-term asset performance.

Venetucci Boulevard Extension Bridge

Fountain, CO

Project Bio

Limited roadway connectivity and difficult ground conditions constrained access to a growing commercial area in Fountain, Colorado. Matrix redesigned the Venetucci Boulevard Extension bridge alignment to reduce costs and improve constructability. The result strengthened access, supported economic activity, and minimized long-term maintenance risks.

  • Reduced bridge length from 140 feet to 123 feet through
    value engineering
