Eric Hiraga

Executive Vice President

Eric Hiraga is an Executive vice President at Matrix, leading pursuits, providing senior leadership oversight, and driving overall growth and competitiveness for the Denver area. Hiraga brings established relationships in both the public and private sectors and more than 25 years of experience addressing complex challenges, facilitating mutually beneficial agreements among diverse groups, and developing cutting edge solution sets. His work spans economic development, real estate development, aviation/transportation, government affairs, international business development, finance, and private-public partnerships.

Prior to joining Matrix, Hiraga was appointed Executive Director of Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) by Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock and oversaw the City’s efforts to create an inclusive and innovative economy for all residents, businesses, and neighborhoods. Eric led the Mayor’s Economic Relief and Recovery Council and the development of the City’s economic relief and recovery plan: RISE Denver - Rebuilding for an Inclusive and Sustainable Economy. As the mayoral-appointed Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff for Denver International Airport (DEN) — at the time a $1-billion-dollar operation with 35,000 employees — Eric oversaw multiple divisions of the facility. He led the creation of the airport’s strategic plan and oversaw the execution of multiple expansion/development projects while managing Air Service Development, Human Resources, Marketing, Procurement, Concessions/Commercial, Finance, Marketing and Communications, Customer Service, and Government Affairs.
