National Western Center Campus Placemaking
Matrix served as a subconsultant to MIG in providing engineering due diligence and preliminary infrastructure design services for the Mayor’s Office of the National Western Center (NWC). The NWC had outlived its facilities, with infrastructure and buildings in need of complete reconstruction as part of a $1-billion-dollar-plus replacement program. New utilities, streets and multimodal connectivity are planned as part of the new NWC campus. Matrix provided due diligence and preliminary design for revisions to the program layout. As part of the analysis, we developed changes from the baseline program to complete a comparative analysis for alternatives. Matrix also provided 30% design services for site infrastructure, including roadway, utilities, and structure selections reports for the bridges. While the City and County of Denver was the contracting agent for the project, our team was responsible for coordination and communications with several equity stakeholders.
