Mountain Home AFB Consulting Support
Matrix facilitated a two-day rapid improvement event (RIE) to identify opportunities to better streamline day-to-day operations within the Engineering Flight (CEN) of the 366th Civil Engineer Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base (AFB). Following the RIE, our team developed several recommendations that included leveraging technology to streamline processes, improve standardization, and open communication channels between key stakeholders from CEN and the base contracting office. Exceeding the military’s expectations, we were further retained to implement many of our recommendations.
Additionally, Matrix inventoried over 50 different facilities and collected information about each using a web-based GIS application. Information gathered included floorplans, points of contact, and occupancy data, based on existing facility footprints. All data was imported into ArcGIS Indoors, with Matrix translating the information into user-friendly data visualization dashboards and three-dimensional models of the completed project.
Lastly, we leveraged the facility space utilization data and input from one-on-one interviews with key stakeholders to develop several demolition and consolidation initiatives. For each initiative, Matrix developed a a planning charrette report, programming backup, and PACES level cost estimates.
