Matrix completed a three-year consulting contract in support of the Greater Pensacola Chamber and its efforts to protect, enhance, and grow military missions within the region. Our team first aided the Chamber by updating a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of Naval Air Station Pensacola that was performed by the Florida Defense Support Task Force in 2012. Matrix took the update a step further by creating an action plan and executing requirements as appropriate to address threats and take advantage of opportunities.

We further established the West Florida Defense Alliance (WFDA) in concert with the Greater Pensacola Chamber. Populated by civic and military leaders from the area, this organization has taken positive steps to create and foster long-term economic development strategies within the region to support the military community. Based on the guidance and advice of Matrix, the WFDA established multiple alliance-led task forces (P4 Partnerships, Family Readiness, Workforce, and Technology) to improve opportunities for service members, dependents, veterans, and businesses that bring military and base-related job opportunities to the region. Along with the WFDA and the Greater Pensacola Chamber, Matrix facilitated engagements with the Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps in the Pensacola region to ensure their mission requirements and needs were adequately understood and addressed by leaders within the community.
