Matrix conducted extensive housing market research for defense communities in Florida and analyzed the collected data to make recommendations specifically to overcome affordability and availability challenges. Our team provided a comparative quantitative analysis that offers insight into the availability of multifamily attached housing — a key determinant of housing costs — throughout the State.

A second research phase focused on communities that have successfully addressed similar affordability and availability challenges. A third phase included researching and coordinating with local housing authorities for the defense communities, the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to identify best practices for supporting underserved populations.

The project culminated in a report that presents all research parameters and results, as well as actionable recommendations for addressing housing challenges.
