TrueNorth Commons is a 58-acre mixed-use development designed to create a synergy between the new U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) Visitor Center and USAFA-related businesses, guests, and visitors. The development is composed of a four-star hotel and conference facilities, commercial office space, and a variety of in-line retail. TrueNorth Commons will meet the needs of Academy visitors, cadet family members, business travelers, and regional commuters. It was one of five distinct and extraordinary projects selected as a City for Champions venue and designed to attract visitors from across the country to Colorado Springs, Colorado, bringing energy and economic vitality to the region.

The USAFA hotel and event center will serve not only the demand from the new USAFA Visitor Center, but also distinguished politicians, military leaders, employees and guests of the office development, and Colorado Front Range travelers. A pedestrian plaza and bridge will connect to the Visitor Center across Northgate Boulevard.

The creation, design, and implementation of the hotel and event center and the Visitor Center will enable it to serve as a year-round destination for the USAFA and the City of Colorado Springs. These facilities will be located outside the security gate of the Academy, which in times of heightened security closes the campus to visitors for weeks at a time. By moving these facilities off campus, visitors can be assured of the USAFA Visitor Center experience.
