Matrix served as the lead consultant for the Woodbriar Park Stormwater and Park Improvements project, renovating a 6-acre neighborhood park to provide increased flood control storage while enhancing highly valued community open space. Matrix led the public engagement process to identify community desires for the park and to educate park users on the stormwater management objective. The proposed improvements included a multi-use detention facility to manage and shave peak demand; a natural creek amenity created from previously piped stormwater flows; a nature playground utilizing on-site park materials; interactive creek diversion plaza art; and a sustainable landscape conversion to reduce irrigation consumption and increase biodiversity within the park.
