Sheridan Parkway Roadway & Utility Improvements

Matrix provided engineering services for roadway and utility improvements on Sheridan Parkway. Regional traffic in the area has increased, and additional traffic loads associated with the North Park multiuse development were also forecast. Matrix developed a design that improves mobility and access to development areas along the corridor from 160th Avenue to State Highway 7. Matrix’s scope included traffic analyses and master plan studies, design of a 6-lane, median-divided roadway, and five, signal-controlled intersections. Design included vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian considerations. Matrix prepared traffic signal plans for the five intersections, including one intersection with State Highway 7. This intersection required coordination with Broomfield, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), and adjacent development. The traffic signal design was in accordance with CDOT standards and guidelines requiring state highway access and special use permits.
