Matrix Partners with Wright-Patterson Regional Council of Governments on CUS and MIR Plan

15 August 2022

The Wright-Patterson Regional Council of Governments selected Matrix to conduct a Regional Compatible Use Study (CUS) and Military Installation Resiliency (MIR) Plan to help Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and surrounding communities proactively promote the long-term sustainability of the base through compatible development, collaboration, and partnerships.

The CUS will identify existing and potential issues and opportunities related to encroachment, transportation, infrastructure, operations, and the environment, culminating in recommended implementation strategies for both the civilian community and military installation. The goal of the MIR is to develop strategies and an implementation plan protecting resources necessary to enhance the resiliency of both the community and Wright-Patterson. The MIR approach consists of three main tasks, including: identifying natural and manmade threats and impacts, assessing vulnerability and risk, and developing and prioritizing projects and policies.

“We are excited to partner with the Council on these two very important endeavors,” said Chief of Strategic Development Celeste Werner, FAICP.
